While interning at Frontgate, I had the opportunity to design several home goods products and product lines.
Two of my projects have been released for sale, first and most exciting is Italian Soirée, a dinnerware collection inspired by traditional Italian ceramic motifs.
My design direction was defined after I spent a day “cutting loose” with pen and copic. The intricacies of my illustrations were over the top, but stirred excitement for the project.
The process involved heavy collaboration between myself and marketing. I was surprised at the amount of refinement necessary in surface design, upon reflection most of my designs were far too busy.
The final designs for the serving platter, charger, dinner plate, side plate, dessert plate, serving tray, and pitcher were all released and are now for sale. The collection was even featured on the cover of the Frontgate May 2018 catalogue!
My second released product is a screen-printed coir door mat featuring a bee and flower theme.
